THEMA’s new partner – Svend Boye

Svend, an economist and current partner in Oslo Economics, brings a variety of valuable expertise to THEMA on issues including the retail and wholesale electricity markets, grid regulation and low-carbon transport.

Svend brings with him many years of experience working as an economic consultant on issues relevant to the energy transition, most recently at Oslo Economics. His work includes projects related to the regulation of retail energy markets, metering and billing, power price support for households and businesses, Guarantees of Origin and measures for promoting quicker grid construction.

In addition, Svend has valuable experience from socio-economic analyses of the regulation of other sectors, such as the water and sewage sector, the transport sector and public procurement.

He also has experience advising businesses in highly regulated markets, such as the energy sector, public transport and public procurement.

Earlier in his career, he worked for a short time as a senior analyst at the Norwegian Transmission System Operator, Statnett. He also has several years of experience at the consultancy Arkwright, where he worked as a management consultant on corporate finance projects for companies in the oil and gas sector, large industrial companies and private equity funds.

Svend is fluent in Norwegian, English, German and French, and will further strengthen the ties between THEMA’s international staff and business. He has a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and a Master’s in Business from BI, the Norwegian Business School in Oslo.
