I started at THEMA in August 2021 as a recent graduate from a two-year master’s program in energy and environment from NTNU. Before this, I took a bachelor’s degree in renewable energy, and during those studies I gained a greater interest in the challenges of the energy transition related to the power grid, and therefore I later chose to specialize in electrical power systems. During my studies, I had an internship at THEMA and was introduced to the consultant role and how we work with current issues and create real value for the customer and society.
THEMA has been a very nice place to start my career. You are included in projects from day one and get to learn from the best in the industry. I feel that my competence is valued, while I learn something new every day as competence sharing holds a special focus. As a new employee I was welcomed by pleasant colleagues. Most of us sit in the office and we get to know each other quite well. In addition, we do fun activities outside of work together.
During my first year, I have worked on many exciting issues, including design of regulations for grid companies, mapping of flexibility for grid companies, development of a revenue model for batteries, and have become part of the market analysis team at THEMA. Here I get the opportunity to work with quantitative analyses linked to our power market model and follow the energy transition in Europe closely.

I started my work in THEMA´s Berlin office in April 2022, after developing and analysing energy and climate policies for governments in Eastern Europe for one and a half years in a previous position. Before that, I studied physics and international affairs, due to my interest in the nexus of economics, politics and science.
In THEMA, I am thankful for the opportunity to combine aspects of natural science, economics, policymaking and business analysis. As it is embedded in all these fields, the energy transition from fossils to renewables is both urgent and challenging. My colleagues at THEMA work hard and skillfully to find solutions to these challenges. From day one, I was involved in a variety of projects, ranging from electrification studies, via power price forecasts, to economic analyses of nascent technologies.
I am excited to learn from my colleagues and bring their knowledge and expertise to the German market. While I already enjoy working with quantitative models and am eager to support the energy transition, I am especially happy about the calm, appreciative and learning-oriented work environment at THEMA, which makes it easy to find solutions in even the most difficult situations.
