Åsmund is a partner at THEMA where he works on market design and regulation in the electricity market. In addition, he undertakes design and evaluation work related to taxes on power generation, network regulation and tariffs, and support for renewable energy. In recent years, sector coupling and the interaction between the electricity system and heating sector has become an important area of work.
Åsmund also provides regulatory expertise in transaction and valuation projects and has also worked extensively on digitalisation issues, such as the introduction of datahubs and models for coordination and information exchange between TSOs and DSOs.
Education:
Cand.oecon. from the University of Oslo with additional studies in philosophy and political science

In THEMA, I work in a professional environment that covers both economics and technology. Understanding the interaction between economics and technology is increasingly important for market design and regulation, making THEMA well-placed to advise on both. I also appreciate that we have an increasing share of international projects in the Nordics and the EU.
