We asked them what drew them to the energy sector, why they chose THEMA, and what they’re looking forward to working on this fall.
Linda Gammelsæter has a Master in Renewable Energy Systems from the University of Oslo (UiO). She is motivated by the opportunity to work with the energy transition and hopefully contribute to a more sustainable future. When asked why she chose THEMA, she said:
“I really wanted to work somewhere I could keep learning and develop new skills, especially within modelling. In the end, it was the welcoming and knowledgeable people at THEMA that convinced me”.
Johanne Arnøy just finished her master’s degree in Industrial Economics at NTNU. She was drawn to the energy sector and THEMA because of its complexity and broad impact.
“At THEMA I have the opportunity to work on diverse challenges while learning from colleagues with strong expertise across the energy sector”.
This fall, Johanne is particularly looking forward to exploring how market mechanisms aimed at decarbonization affect the power market.
Simon Brandkamp, who joins our Berlin team, holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cologne. He chose the energy sector because it combines market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and physical system constraints in a unique way.
“One of the reasons I chose THEMA is the possibility to combine profound model-based analyses with actionable strategic advice”, he says. This fall, he is looking forward to contributing to THEMAs Power Market Outlook.
Sander Nordhagen recently completed his Master’s in Finance from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). A former summer intern in 2023, he says he really enjoyed working with power market experts:
“The energy sector is exiting because is it undergoing rapid change and has a major influence on other industries and society as a whole”.
Sander will primarily be working on strategy, transactions, and Market Analysis projects.
Silje Bentdal also holds Master’s in Renewable Energy Systems from UiO. She was drawn to the energy sector because of its crucial role in shaping a more sustainable future.
“I chose THEMA for its leading expertise in energy markets and policy advisory, as well as its collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment. This fall, I’m looking forward to learning from my colleagues and applying my skills to work that supports the energy transition”.
