Education: PhD in Economics, minors in Comparative Politics and Statistics (University of Bergen)
In my work in THEMA, I focus mainly on the design and analysis of regulations and on market design. Most of my projects are commissioned by ministries and public authorities in Norway, the Nordic countries and in the EU, but I also assist industrial associations and utilities with analysis involving economic theory, the policy framework in general and climate and energy policies in particular. Relevant policy issues include, among others, network tariffs, capacity mechanisms, markets for flexibility, the EU ETS and market integration in Europe.
My job in THEMA allows me to work with topical and important issues, and to contribute to the transformation of the energy system needed to tackle climate change. Efficient regulation and market design is crucial in this regard. These projects also allos me to apply my experience and education to complex issues. Working with capable colleagues with expertise within economics, finance, technology and modelling, means that I learn something new every day. Discussions with clients provide unique insights into the challenges that policymakers, regulators and market actors face in both the short and long term.
Prior experience: Center for Applied Research (Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration), Institute of Economics (University of Bergen), Statoil, ECON/Econ Pöyry.
