Berit’s work focuses on the design of efficient regulation, policy measures and market mechanisms. Examples include Contracts for Differences and other subsidy mechanisms, grid tariffs, flexibility markets, and the interface between markets and policies. Although her work is mainly related to the power market, her work includes district heating, hydrogen, emissions allowances and gas markets.
Berit’s projects are mainly commissioned by ministries and other public authorities in Norway and in the other Nordic countries, including projects for Nordic Energy Research, and for the EU Commission. She also carries out projects for industry associations and utilities.

PhD in Economics, minors in Comparative Politics and Statistics (University of Bergen)

Discussions with clients provide unique insights into the challenges that policymakers, regulators and market actors face in both the short and long term, help me apply my economic training to the real problems stakeholders face today.
