Recent weeks have been filled with rising alarms for the global community to take immediate action to dramatically cut greenhouse gas emissions. In the most recent IPCC report researchers have been able to show with unprecedented confidence that climate change is already having a significant impact globally due to human activities. Political leaders as well as businesses have a momentous challenge ahead to do their part in lowering emissions.
The energy sector is a key factor in rising to this challenge as the corner stone of modern society. A carbon neutral energy system will enable other sectors to follow suit. The main purpose of the Nordic Clean Energy Scenarios project has been to develop scenarios that illustrate different pathways for the energy sector to achieve carbon neutrality.
- What would a carbon neutral Nordic energy system look like?
- What action could be taken today that would propel the region towards successfully reaching their climate targets?
Join us live for the answers and hear directly from some of the most knowledgeable energy system modellers in the Nordic region how we can move forward towards target fulfillment.
