Utku is responsible for Continental Europe in THEMA’s Power Market Outlook. Among other things, the Outlook helps us to understand the impact of new demand and power generation technologies on power prices.
Where will prices go? How much can wind operators earn? What is the impact of negative price hours on a battery? To answer such questions, Utku develops data-driven solutions, builds market scenarios and models different power markets, such as the day-ahead or intraday markets.

I really appreciate the continuous learning environment at THEMA: Varying projects, knowledgeable colleagues and lots of room for initiative all allow me to improve my understanding of the energy transition.
I am thankful for my talented, kind and supportive colleagues, who not only alleviate some of work’s hardships but often make my days a lot of fun.
But hanging out with my colleagues isn’t the only nice part of my workday. I get to create meaningful analyses from complex data sets, a challenging but highly enjoyable task, and I am happy that the projects often contain just the right amount of regulatory and policy analysis as well.
