Phillip Kolkmeier is looking forward to working on exciting issues within a growing, progressive industry. During his internship he expects to be challenged, learn a lot from experienced consultants and be given a lot of responsibility. Phillip studies industrial economics and technology management at NTNU. He has previously worked as a ski instructor in Canada, in a startup at StartupLab and done an internship at mnemonic. He is interested in topics surrounding the green transition and how one can contribute to solving important societal problems. In THEMA, Phillip will work on several different projects at the intersection of technology and strategy, including the electrification of airports. Philip will be working at the Oslo office.
Tora Dahl is looking forward to learning more about market modelling and market design and gaining insight into how various actors in the renewable industry are working to adapt to the green transition. Tora studies industrial economics and technology management at NTNU, where she specializes in energy, environment and strategy. In addition, she is also studying for a bachelor's degree in social economics. She has previously had an internship with Statsbygg where she worked, among other things, on mapping how technology and digitization could contribute to energy efficiency in buildings' operational phase. To date, Tora has contributed to two different projects in THEMA, which deal with the development of a climate scenario up to 2035 and the development of price models for district heating. Tora will also be working at the Oslo office.
Andreas Thoma is excited to gain insights into the functionality of power and gas market models and to extend his knowledge of market design. He has studied quantitatively oriented economics with a focus on microeconomics at Humboldt University of Berlin, which he finished last year. Previously, he interned in economic consulting, where he could make use of his economic and quantitative know-how to help with econometric modelling and drafting reports for competition matters. So far, he has supported THEMA mainly in policy monitoring and the update of model inputs. Andreas will primarily be working from the Berlin office.
This is the seventh time THEMA is offering internships, and it is also the first time we offer internships at both the Oslo and Berlin office. Welcome to Phillip, Tora and Andreas – we are looking forward to working with you!
