Ingvild has a master’s degree in nanotechnology from NTNU, with a specialisation in Nanotechnology for Materials, Energy and the Environment. She previously worked at Sopra Steria as a consultant. During her studies, she did an internship at SINTEF Energy where she researched new insulating materials for use in high-voltage cables. At THEMA, Ingvild will be a part of our model team developing price forecasts, amongst other things.
Roald has a master’s degree in economics from the University of Oslo and previously worked in the Norwegian regulatory authority for energy (RME). In RME, his work was mostly focused on the regulation of grid companies. Roald will primarily be working on market design and socio-economic analyses.
Lorenzo has a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Turin. He is now attending his second year of the master program in Business Analytics at BI. Last year he had an internship at Pexip, where he worked as a software engineer. At THEMA, Lorenzo will be involved in the data engineering aspect of the price forecast model. He is currently working part-time but will start full-time in August.
We asked our new colleagues what they think will be challenging in THEMA, and what they are looking forward to learning more about!
Ingvild:
I think I have a lot to learn about many aspects of the energy market, so it could be challenging during the first months to limit myself to what I need to know (as opposed to what is just nice and fun to know). Coming from a decidedly theoretical background in nanotechnology, I look forward to gaining more practical knowledge about the energy market. I hope to explore new fields, such as politics and economics, but also utilise and further develop my knowledge in areas such as technology.Roald:
Since I have a background in regulatory work, I think it can be challenging to see problems not only from a regulatory perspective, but other aspects as well. I’m looking forward to learning more about how we can design energy markets to facilitate for the green transition and how we can solve the future challenges of our energy systems.Lorenzo:
I believe that starting to work in a new sector for the first time, comes with a fair share of challenges and a lot of new things to understand and learn. I am looking forward to learning more about the energy sector and refine my technical skill in data engineering and modelling.
